Her further transformation in Hollywood by way of MGM’s studio style galvanized her fame and turned her into a mythic twenty-century icon.Mirrors play a central role in Swedish silent cinema for expanding cinematographic space and also for underlying duplicity, scheming, and vanity.
The flashes were in ETTL with no ratio control. I shot in aperture priority mode and used exposure compensation (-2 stops) to control the background.

You can also use manual mode on the camera (leave the flashes on ETTL) and then just underexpose the background a bit. The flashes will automatically throw the proper amount of light on your subject.

Give it a shot and let me know how it goes!

I feel like I am making this harder than it is, (and I did buy a pair).

If I want to recreate this, would I put the flashes in ETTL (no ratios, etc?) and then as far as the camera, I guess I can expose for the background in Manual? or are you using another manipulation of the camera (i.e. exposure compensation)

I like to do the whole "drop the background 2 stops" and light the foreground....

So can I do the camera in manual and use the flashes in auto?

I am embarrassed to ask...

Mark, I was directed over her by the Pocket Wizard blog re your post. I've subscribed to your blog -- looks great, look forward to catching up with your work through it...

My feedback is similar to Pete's. I thought it was a great vid on a PW two-strobe set up -- thanks for sharing. But, without Pete asking, you didn't mention anything about how the PWs were set up to talk with the camera using E-TTL... I thought maybe you were shooting them on manual...

Look forward to our next installment...

Yes, that's correct. Just left everything on auto. No tweaking.

Is this example shot with "simple" E-TTL extended via PW wireless gear, i.e. both flashes are firing at equal intensity?
