Well, it was a fast trip to the east coast for snapfactory this time around. We did manage to get out and about town but, at least for me, it was pretty cold and I ended up not doing much shooting. I did manage a few shots as well as a number of images with my iPhone. I love my iPhone.
While we didn’t make it to see Mr. Vaughn (see post below), we did get to B&H Photo (just around the corner from our hotel, practically), Little Italy for dinner one night, the Broadway musical Wicked and a couple of museums Mark hadn’t been to yet, the Frick (not to be missed!) and the Museum of Natural History (one of the NY museums you can shoot in– with flash even!) So, not an uneventful trip. We also shared some coffee and photography stories with NY Photographer Shelby Chan. Shelby was great and I hope we’ll be able to get together again at a future NY trip. I’d love to see his studio in Chelsea next time.

We also got to spend a day with the third member of our little family, Andrew. He lives in NY so we don’t get to see him nearly as much as we’d like. It was very cool to have him come in to Manhattan with us despite his very nasty cold. We tried to not drag him all around town too much. A visit to the Chelsea diner for lunch perked us all up. We also got over to Midtown Comics for some leisurely manga goodness.

On our last day as we were heading back to the hotel from Central Park West, I spotted a snowflake. By the time we reached the south end of the park it was coming down hard. We hailed a cab and got down to Times Square; by the time we got back to the hotel we were being almost blinded by driving snow! It lasted long enough for a few pictures:

Quite a few hours (and a delayed flight) later, we were warming up at home in Phoenix. Of course this morning, I had to go pick up Luka from boarding. I think he was happy to go home too.

All in all, a fun trip. We’re looking forward to going back again when it’s a bit warmer, maybe even teaching a class or two while we’re there. If you’re out there, let us know if that’s something you’d be interested in!
Alright everybody! Back to work!
