New PocketWizard Videos

In May and June of this year I spent a lot of time working with PocketWizard on a few videos and some instructional content for their website. All of the new step-by-step instructional info is just about to go live on PocketWizard.com (it’s going to rock) and I wanted to give you a sneak peek at a couple of other videos that will hit their site soon.

The first video is just an overview of the PocketWizard MiniTT1 and FlexTT5. There are a few sample pictures and some behind the scenes video of me shooting in New York.

The second video explains hi speed sync and shows you how you can extend this functionality using the Mini and Flex.

Episode 12 in production

We’ve been working hard on the next episode of Digital Photography One on One. Episode 12 is all about simplicity. In our last episode we showed you some basic lighting setups and the response was overwhelming, people wanted more samples. But we also had a lot of e-mail asking if we could show some setups that didn’t use so many lights.

We decided we’d focus on using just a single light. That’s right – all of the lighting setups in episode 12 will feature a single light. To add to the fun we decided that we’d feature different light modifiers, that way you could see the difference between a beauty dish and a softbox, or a large softbox and a small softbox.

We began filming last week and were planning to be finished yesterday. However, we had a couple of scheduling issues so we’re going to have to shoot the last few scenes next week. It’s going to delay the episode a couple of weeks but we think it will be worth it.

To give you a taste of what we’re working on I’ve included a few of the still images from this shoot. Can you guess which light modifiers we used for each of these setups? Remember – these were all shot using a single light (check out our YouTube channel for some hints).
