Lilli

We shot a huge Valentine’s Day campaign for a lingerie company a couple of weeks ago.  Next week our photos should start showing up on advertisements, in-store displays, web advertisements, etc.  Here’s one of my favorite shots from the session. Featured in this shot are their gloves, purse, necklace and pink wig. Diane did all of the hair and makeup.

Investing in the future

I’m getting excited about the upcoming workshops next month.  Last year we invested a lot of time and money in our studio and this year we’re doing the same with our workshops. We’re adding new content, more samples, new videos, and we are (finally) going to have a video projector and some other A/V equipment.

We’re adding on-site printing so students at our studio lighting and weekend edition workshops will be able to make quick proofs of their work.  We’re also getting a new computer in the studio.  We’re updating our student guides too.

I’ve begun working on new content for a workshop on “street photography” although I hate calling it that.  And with the new A/V equipment in the studio we’ll have more options in the future.  We may even bring in some guests for special events.  2007 is going to be exciting for us, I can’t wait.

Chanel

I had the privilege of shooting with Chanel again this weekend.  We were playing around with some dark and moody lighting.  Here’s one of the shots that I really liked.  Great work Chanel!

New Weekend Workshop

We’ve had a lot of requests at the studio for a weekend photo workshop.  People love our 8 week photography course but
some people aren’t able to attend because of work schedules, travel, taking care of kids, etc.  So we created a weekend version of the workshop.

The workshop is different than our 8 week course in that it has a lot more hands on exercises and is accelerated.  Everything happens over the weekend.

Based on our eight week course, Digital Photography 101, this workshop will give you a solid foundation for creating quality photographs. You’ll learn the “math” of photography: ISO, aperture, shutter speed, resolution, pixels, etc.  You’ll also learn the “art” of photography: Elements of composition, framing and cropping, point of view, motion, panning, cropping, and more.

The workshop meets Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday. The workshop features plenty of hands on exercises throughout. Students will have plenty of time to ask questions and get personal assistance. The Saturday session features class outings to Tempe Town Lake and Mill Avenue.

If you’re interested in the course you can get more info by clicking here.

We also have new studio lighting and digital photography workshops available for 2007.  Click here to learn more.
